JAMMU: The city of temples is fully decked up ahead of the celebrations of the festival of lights as the residents today thronged various markets in the city to purchase crackers and other items for the celebration of the festival.
In view of repeated ceasefire violations from across the border, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in Jammu region.
“Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the known infiltration routes. Police check posts have also been established at all the vulnerable routes where anti-national elements could try to infiltrate,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Uttam Chand said.
Uttam Chand said “additional police force has been deployed at all the places where we expect large gathering of people. Tight vigil is also in place in the areas where people would be celebrating the festival of lights”.
