Srinagar: Police on Tuesday arrested three liquor suppliers along with a vehicle and recovered large quantity of liquor bottles in south Kashmirs Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, a senior police official said.
The official said that three persons namely Muhammad Yusuf Sheikh, resident of Kadipora Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad Goswami, resident of Achabal Adda Anantnag and Majid Ahmad Dar, resident of Munwar Harnag Anantnag were arrested when police had laid a checkpoint in Bijbehara.
These three people were coming from Srinagar in a Tata Sumo vehicle (JK08A 5465) along with 81 bottles of liquor, he said, adding: They used to supply liquor in Anantnag district.
He said the police have registered a case in this regard under FIR number 259/14 under 48 F Excise Act. (GNS)
