Srinagar: A policeman posted in Nigeen Police Station Srinagar who was allegedly injured in a stone-pelting incident near Duck Park on Fore Shore Road in July this year succumbed to his injury in a Srinagar hospital Monday morning.
A police official told CNS that Constable Waseem Ahmed (3613/S) had been admitted in Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura on July 29, after he received fatal injuries during a stone-pelting incident in Nigeen area of Srinagar city. Scores of stone-pelters who clashed with police attacked a police party resulting in the serious injury of Constable Waseem Ahmed, the official said adding an FIR already stands registered in Police Station Nigeen in this regard.
Meanwhile a wreath laying ceremony was organized at Police Control Room Srinagar to honour the services of deceased cop. (CNS)
