SRINAGAR: The state government Thursday effected a wide-ranging reshuffle in the civil and police administration in the state.
The state cabinet, which met here with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the chair, transferred more than 30 police officers and officials of the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) each besides ordering adjustments of four inspectors general of police (IGPs).
This will apparently be the last major administrative overhaul before the state assembly elections.
The reshuffle at the district administration-level includes transfers of some district magistrates, additional district magistrates and district police chiefs.
The state government had Wednesday ordered promotion of 24 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) as officiating superintendents of police (SPs).

Choudhary Rashid Azam Inqalabi, KAS, awaiting orders of posting, has be posted as Director, School Education, Jammu, against an available vacancy.
