SRINAGAR: After suspension of processing services in Srinagar after September 7 floods Passport Office Srinagar will resume processing of applications from Monday at its Boulevard office.
According to the Passport Officer Srinagar Firdous Iqbal, in the first stage only some cases will be processed on a trial basis and the applicants in that case will be called by the Passport Office on phone.
Simultaneously we are in the process of finding ways so that the fresh applications are also processed in Srinagar and the applicants are not put to trouble of going to other places like Jammu and outside state, Iqbal said.
Regarding damaged and lost passports in floods, he said fee will be waived off in respect of those cases but they may have to wait for some time till the same is notified in the gazette which is expected very soon and after notifying the same in the gazette those cases will also be processed. (KNS)
