New Delhi: Lending their hand to relief operations in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has sent six high-powered, sophisticated water pumps to the state to help authorities in draining out the accumulated flood water.
DIAL, which operates the Delhi airport, has dispatched the first lot of six high power, sophisticated de-watering pumps, along with a team of six trained operators to Jammu and Kashmir, a DIAL spokesperson said.
Giving details about the features of the pumps, he said, each pump is powered by 100 HP (horse power) diesel engine and can pump up to seven lakh litres of water per hour.
These 1.3 tonne giant pumps, which measure 9ftx5ftx6ft in size, are ideal to handle the J&K flood situation with auto priming vacuum assistant and anti-clogging features.
“With heavy duty features, each pump can work for extended hours and should be an asset to the authorities as they work towards draining the accumulated water,” he said, adding the consignment also includes over 1,300 feet of 200 mm diameter pipelines for rapid extraction of stagnant water.
