Srinagar: The houseboats costing 100 crore have been damaged in Kashmir due to the recent catastrophic floods, with the people associated with the trade saying it will take years to restore Kashmir’s glory once again.
Houseboats that earlier used to decorate the waters of world famous Dal lake were among the initial entities hit by the devastating floods. Reports added that the houseboats worth 100 crore have been damaged with the collapse reported to 15 house boats with 100 percent of the damage. 40 percent of damage has been reported to 250 house boats while as 600 others remained partially damaged. 300 dongas were affected while as four drowned completely. Also 900 Shikaras have been damaged by the recent floods.
