Srinagar: India’s premier water resources body, who claims to ‘serve the nation since 1945’, is responsible for flood forecasting and issue prior flood alerts in vulnerable states, did not even keep J&K name on the alert list.
On September 6th, it had issued 18 level forecasts and 8 inflow forecasts. However, no mention of J&K on the official site of CWC, there is an option of watching hydro-graphs of various rivers. But there is no mention of river Jhelum, who has created havoc in the state since last week. The site also has an option of getting flood-related information on maps and lists basis. But in this section also, there is no mention of Jammu and Kashmir.
