SRINAGAR: There will be no respite from the rains and the Meteorologist Department here has sounded a cold wave alert across Jammu and Kashmir for four days.
A Met Office spokesman said moderate to heavy rains are likely in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of the state till Monday.
A Western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and its interaction with monsoon currents over North West India is likely to affect the state from Wednesday to Monday with occasional gaps, Sonam Lotus, Director Meteorological Department, said in a statement.
Under the influence of this weather system, moderate to heavy rain or thundershower and snowfall over higher reaches will occur at most places in Kashmir and Jammu divisions and at a few places in Ladakh region particularly along Srinagar-Jammu, Srinagar-Leh, and Leh-Manali Road etc, Lotus said in the statement also circulated to press here.
