SRINAGAR: Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather today informed the Houser that Government was contemplating to devise a clear cut policy for the regularization and engagement of Daily Wagers/CP Workers and Contractual in the State.
Replying to a point raised by Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Abdul Haq Khan, M.Y. Tarigami, Abdul Rehman Veeri and G.M. Saroori, the Finance Minister said that the Government has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee to look into the issue of regularization of Daily Wagers/Contractuals and C.P. Workers engaged in various departments from time to time after January, 1994. The Committee had asked for complete details about the number of such engagements from various departments and the requisite information is still awaited from some quarters.
Mr. Rather maintained that the requisite information from the concerned department is expected soon and Cabinet Sub-Committee will scrutinize and discuss the same and make its recommendations for the regularization of daily rated employees along with a policy in this regard. He said the Government was serious to address this issue, but in view of exhaustive exercise and for want of a clear cut policy the matter got delayed.
