SRINAGAR: The altercation between the members of two families in Fitlipora Pakharpora hamlet of Central Kashmirs Budgam district claimed the life of an elderly person on Friday morning.
Police sources said that there was a scuffle between the family members of Muhammad Akbar Laway and Master Abdul Rashid Lone over a disputed piece of land. Sources added that during scuffle, Muhammad Akbar suffered major heart attack and died on spot. The son of the deceased person, Nazir Ahmed Laway said that nobody manhandled his father but he suffered heart attack due to boisterous scene. We have registered a formal case and waiting for the post-mortem report, a police official said.
Meanqhile in a bizarre incident, a 22-year-old boy was shot dead by his neighbor after a tussle that broke up between them on the land dispute in Rajouri on Friday, GNS has reported.
Quoting an eyewitness, the report said that the family of Mashuq Ahmad and Mahir Hussain of resident Khadyoon Kotranka had issues with each other from past few days.
Yesterday evening some cattles of Mashuq Ahmad had entered in the field of Manzoor Ahmad. The issue actually started at that time. Both exchanged verbal abuses, he said.
The situation however turned tense after Manir Hussain, the son of Nawab Din, took out his 12 bore rifle and shot on the forehead of Mashuq Ahmad who is son of Bashir Ahmad.
Mashuq died on spot, said a local.
Soon after the news spread in the area police rushed to the spot immediately and took the body in their possession.
However, Police Station Kandi has arrested the accused Manir Hussain and a FIR 66/2014 under section 302, 3/25 RPC has been registered.
