Srinagar: Reliance customers in city centre Lal Chowk and adjoining areas besides in Leh (Ladakh) are having a harrowing experience in their bid to remain connected with the world.
While the users in Srinagar have alleged that the connectivity has turned from bad to worse over the past three months subscribers in Ladakh said that they have altogether been deprived of the service promised without any prior notice.
The signal strength in my phone has been very low and this seems to be the case with Reliance only, said a trader Muhammad Yousuf.
He said the facility was hardly helping them to access internet as it remains out-of-order most of the times.
Another trader alleged that Reliance people misbehaved with him and advised him to switch to other service.
A Reliance subscriber Sameer Ahmad Zargar (9018066670) based in Leh told Kashmir Observer over phone that the Reliance team without any prior intimation disconnected his services.
I was paying my monthly dues of Rs 1299 against the service I was getting but all of a sudden the company stopped all prepaid services thus putting us to great inconvenience.
I have been calling the customer service of Reliance for almost last 10 days now with a simple request that I want to switch over to another network.
As per rules one can now transfer existing number to a new mobile company in just one working day.
I have been urging Relaince and asking them for a Porting Authorisation Code or PAC.
The PAC must be issued immediately over the phone or within two hours by text message.
But so far I have failed to elicit a favourable response.
I even spoke to Reliance Zonal Manger Mr Arshid who directed me to one Mr Vinod. The said officer only hurled abuses at me as I asked for PAC code, Sameer said.
