SRINAGAR: Kashmir Bar Association Wednesday denounced the decision of Government of India of cancelling the foreign Secretary level talks and appreciated the stand taken by Pakistan in stating that it was a legitimate stake holder in the Kashmir dispute and was in no way subservient to India.
In its meeting held in Srinagar, Bar said that India has never been sincere in holding talks with Pakistan or with Kashmiri pro-freedom leadership for resolving Kashmir dispute and it is only to hoodwink the world community that it occasionally, under international pressure, agrees to hold talks with Pakistan, but thereafter backtracks the same on one or the other pretext to sabotage the said process.
The Bar Association felt that it is the legitimate right of every Kashmiri to discuss Kashmir issue with Pakistan or representative of any other country supportive of their cause and seek their help and assistance to resolve the issue.
Wherever and whenever possible and to apprise it about the wishes and aspirations of the people and also the happenings in Kashmir and no one can deny them the said right on flimsy and baseless grounds. Bar said.
