ISLAMABAD Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has given a 10 point revolutionary agenda, demanding immediate resignation and arrest of the prime minister Nawaz Sharif and chief minister of Punjab, dissolution of National Assembly as well as provincial assemblies, formation of a national government and rejected mid-term election.
Addressing the charged crowd of his supporters in Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy here, the PAT chief also announced to give a timeframe for revolution late on Saturday night. He also demanded the arrest and placing the names of Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and cabinet ministers in the ECL. He said a national government should be formed with a revolutionary and reformatory agenda for state.
“After the formation of a new government, strict and ruthless accountability of all the statesmen, bureaucrats, officials and employees will be held and that nobody shall be spared, he said. He said that the Revolution March participants would stay till the attainment of his goal. However, he said their sit in would be peaceful and bring the revolution through a peaceful struggle.
Dr Qadri said he would remain with the participants of the march. He also announced a 10 point economic agenda which should be implemented by the national government including food, clothes and job for the poor, reduction to half the bills for electricity, gas and water, health insurance scheme, creation of more provinces including Hazara, Seraiki, FATA and others where it is possible administratively.
He termed the existing assemblies as unconstitutional, saying that 2/3 of the members were corrupt, loan defaulters and tax evaders. He said there should be stringent accountability of all the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. The PAT chief said he was opposed to imposition of martial law but would oppose the mid-term election as same corrupt people would return to the houses.
In his address, Dr Qadri said that minorities would be given equal rights here and vowed to punish those victimizing the people belonging to any minority. About former president Pervez Musharraf, the PAT chief said the current rulers tried him under high treason for abolishing the constitution, but themselves discontinued 30 different articles (article 9-38) of the constitution, which provide basic human rights to the people.
He said if Musharraf was to be punished for suspending the constitution, then these rulers should also be held accountable for suspending these articles of the constitution, for years and years.
