Srinagar: Three residential houses housing wholesale stores were partially damaged in fire that broke out in Kokar Bazar area of city centre Lal Chowk on Saturday.
Police sources said that flames appeared from the three story house of Ghulam Muhmmad Chadnav which engulfed the electrical and mobile stores of two other persons and the house of another person namely Muhammad Sadiq Baqal.
Police and other officials visited on spot while due to efforts of fire fighters, the fire was put out in the nick of the time.
Reports said that property worth lakhs got damaged in the fire. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. We have registered a case and the investigation is going on, police said. (
