Srinagar: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has extended greetings to the people on Janamashtami wishing them well-being and prosperity.
In his message, The Chief Minister highlighted the States rich tradition of celebrating festivals and holy occasions together ad in an atmosphere of amity. He emphasized on further strengthening this trait.
The Chief Minister prayed for peace and development in the State and the Country.
N. N. Vohra, Governor, has greeted the people on Janamashtami and expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the divine message of Lord Krishna, enshrined in the Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, exhorts mankind to strive for the ultimate truth and to do ones duty to the best of ones ability without worrying about the benefits to be gained. He added that adherence to such values provides a firm foundation of a stable and harmonious society.
