Srinagar: Police Tuesday arrested a Special Operation Group man in South Kashmirs Tral town after one of his civilian friend allegedly stole his service rifle along with the magazine from his government quarter.
Police sources have revealed to local news agencies that an SOG man Latif Khan posted at police station Tral reported that his AK-47 rifle and 3 magazines have been stolen from his room after which police arrested him and lodged in police station Tral.
Sources added that during questioning, the said SOG man revealed that several civilian friends from different localities of Tral frequently visited his room. Initial investigation has revealed that AK-47 rifle along with three magazines has been stolen by one of the friends of SOG man. The inquiry is still going on, Station House Officer Tral Nazir Ahmed said.
