Srinagar: The General Officer Commanding of Srinagar based Chinar Corps Lieutenant General Subrata Saha visited Baltal on Friday and took stock of the security situation towards the conclusion of the Amarnath Yatra along the northern route.
Armys Srinagar based spokesman in a statement here said the GOC was briefed by the Commanding Officer of the Unit deployed on the Baltal route regarding the latest inputs and was assured that all troops were in a state of high alert.
The GOC also took a feedback from the Commanding Officer regarding future improvements for the Yatra based on their experience.
He later met the Commandant CRPF, Commandant BSF, SP Yatra and Camp Director, Baltal and took their views for better conduct of the Yatra next year. He was fully satisfied with the security arrangements and was confident that the final phase of the Yatra will be executed smoothly.
