SRINAGAR: Thousands of people joined annual Majlis-e-Asad at Imambargah, Zadibal here on Friday.
The traditional majlis in memory of martyrs of Karbala held during peak summer season this year attracted large crowds as ailing Shia leader Maulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari made a brief public appearance after a long time.
Maulana remained in the imambargah for only a few minutes and did not deliver his sermon disappointing his devout followers.
Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader is suffering from liver cancer.
People had come from different areas of the Valley to participate in the majlis.
