The current military offensive in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 1500 Palestinians, majority of them civilians, with impunity, not only exposes Israel and its claims of being the only democratic country in the Middle but has also clearly exposed Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the two most important Arab countries, in being on the side of Israel and shedding crocodile tears for Gaza. The Debka Net Weekly, a publication of a website close to Israels foreign intelligence service Mossad has confirmed that A joint high command of Arab states is advising the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu how to press home his ground operation in Gaza. The website said that Saudi Arabias King Abdullah and Egypts President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi are in constant communication running daily conferences and sometimes more. This communication is carried over secure telephone lines and at times human carriers are also used to deliver the messages. Prince Bander bin Sultan, who was earlier dismissed as the intelligence chief and has now been appointed as the Kings special adviser on the Islamic State in Iraq, maintains direct contact with the Mossad Chief Tamir Pardo. On the Egyptian side, Ahmad Fareed Al-Tohami, the head of Egypts General Intelligence Directorate, is described by the website as keeping an open door to Amos Gilad, the political coordinator of the Israeli Defense Ministry and Yitzhak Molcho, Netanyahus top adviser.
The troika aims to smash HAMAS as a military power, curtail its political influence and installing a new pliable Govt in Gaza once HAMAS has been crushed. The unholy alliance also seems to be an indication that they dont trust America as much as they would like and hence would like it to interfere less in their affairs. This has been a win- win situation for Israel since these two allies have gone to great lengths to insulate Israel from halting their deadly mission inside Gaza. No wonder Israel has acted with more impunity this time than it has at other times in its offensives against Gaza. This alliance should be also seen in the backdrop of Saudi Arabias and Israels mutual interest of taking on and targeting Iran.
The Morsi led Govt in Egypt was toppled in an Army coup in Egypt last year around this time. Saudi Arabia and UAE were the strongest supporters of Gen El-Sissis coup and infact immediately rewarded him with massive financial aid to help him remain entrenched in power. Saudi Arabia has pumped in another $5 billion this year, with promise of another $20 more billion to come. Seeing these developments in Egypt in hindsight, it is not difficult to imagine why this coup was managed with such speed and financial backing from Saudi Arabia and UAE and why these countries alongwith Egypt have got into an unholy nexus with Israel. The coup has not only proved beneficial for Saudi and UAE and hence their massive financial backing, but has also served the Israeli interest well in the region. Apart from this political manipulation by Saudi Arabia, it has also been liberally spreading sectarian strife throughout various Muslim countries and many of these sectarian monsters seen active in Iraq, Syria and Pakistan, to name just a few countries, are Saudi proxies. It is not only violent sectarian elements that derive its power and financial backing from Saudi Arabia, but also a large number of preachers and Saudi foot soldiers who have been doing the Kingdoms bidding in spreading its divisive ideology to keep not only the Middle east pot boiling, but keep the schism in many Muslim countries among various groups alive.
