SRINAGAR: The government on Friday decided to impose restrictions in parts of old Srinagar, downtown, in view of a shutdown and protest demonstrations sponsored by the separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani.
“Prohibitory orders will be enforced in the areas in old Srinagar falling under at least five Police stations Khanyar, Mahraj Ganj, Safa Kadal, Nowhatta and Kral Khud. The decision was taken in view of threat to peace and order,” an official spokesman told the Kashmir Observer.
