Srinagar: Muslims of Kashmir will bid farewell to the ongoing month of Ramadan on the eve of Jumat-ul-Wida (Last Friday) of Ramadan month on July 25 with the night long prayers of Shab-e-Qadr also being held. Muslim across the world also observe last Friday of Ramazan as Quds Day, in solidarity with Palestinians.
Various organizations in Kashmir have sponsored marches and rallies to observe Quds Day on Friday to oppose the fresh military offensive against Gazans.
Huge congregation of devotees will be witnessed at Hazaratbal shrine (Housing the Holy Relic of the Prophet (SAW) and at historic grand mosque of Srinagar.
The state authorities claim to be on tenterhook in terms of proving all necessary arrangements to the devotees. Proper sanitation care in the city is also being looked into with the state transport services directed to ply on almost all routes to ferry devotees from the major mosques of the city.
Reports informed KNS that valley will observe Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadhan with traditional piety and religious fervor. The day will also be marked with a huge turnout at all mosques.
The largest gathering of the day will be held at Hazratbal shrine where the faithful will congregate in large numbers since morning. Another large congregation is expected at the Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
A large number of people will also offer prayers at Dastgeer Saheb Khanyar, Maqdhoom Saheb, Asar-e-Sharief Kailashpora, Jenab Saheb Soura, Dastgeer Saheb Sarai Payeen. Reports from other districts said that arrangements have been made for a large number of people to offer prayers at all the major towns.
Major congregations will converge at Handwara, Pulwama, Varmul, Sopur, Chrar-e-Shrief, Asar Sharief Pinjora, Khiram Sirhama, Tral, Ashmuqam, Baba Reshi among other places.
The SRTC has been directed to have buses into service to cater to the huge rush of devotees. Many private operators and charity organizations have also made arrangements for the devotees. Congregational prayers shall also be held at Jammu and Kargil. Shab-e-Qadr, also known as Laylat-ul-Qadr will be observed all over Kashmir on Friday night with great religious zeal and sanctity. People will offer night long prayers and recite holy Quran in Masjids and shrines all across Kashmir.
Shab-e-Qadr, traditionally celebrated each year on the 27th night of Ramadan, is the anniversary of two important dates in Islam during Ramadhan. The first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) during this night and it is also the anniversary of the night in which Holy Quran was revealed in its entirety.
Thousands of people are scheduled to offer prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Old City and Dargah Hazratbal. Similar congregations will be held in different mosques across Kashmir. The night is all set to remain abuzz with Islamic ceremonies and prayers.
Biggest congregations of nightlong prayers shall also held at the shrines of Saeed Yaqoob Sahab (RA) Sonawar, Sayeed Mansoor Sahab (RA), Makhdoom Sahab (RA), Shrine of Gous-ul-Azam Dastgeer (RA) at Khanyar, Khwaja Naqashband Sahab (RA) and other shrines in the Valley.
