SRINAGAR: Cautioning people against selling land and other fixed assets to outsiders including Indian army, JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik Friday warned that Kashmir could turn into Palestine where in 1940s the people sold their lands to Israeli army and businessmen.
“We can sense a criminal negligence on part of the world community. But the fact is the Palestinians sold lands to Israelis in 1940s which led their nation to this pass,” Malik told a gathering in Ganderbal, according to a JKLF handout.
“The situation in Palestine,” Malik said, “is a lesson for us and if we dont stop selling our lands to Indian state, forces and army, our situation may also become as worst as of Palestinians.”
About the recent meeting between India’s pro-BJP journalist Ved Prakash Vedik and Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Malik said the disclosure has ” exposed the fascism of BJP and RSS.
Malik said that BJP and RSS when in power start dialogue with Pakistan, Hizbul Mujahideen, Hurriyat and others but when out of power oppose and stop every kind of such process.
“It is BJP and RSS which created a war like situation when Hafiz Saeed sahib came to my hunger strike camp in Pakistan where I was protesting the hanging of Shaheed Afzal Guru. Today when their own man is meeting the same person they are behaving like doves.”
Malik while condemning the firings and shelling on people protesting against Israeli aggression, and injuring many including Mohammad Aamir of Wonpoh Islamabad who is critically injured, said that police using excessive force against peaceful protesters is highly condemnable.
He said that taking out rallies against Israeli aggression is good but people who are protesting should also remember Kashmir as we have and are also suffering from same kind of oppression.
Malik strongly condemned the spree of arrests by police in recent days. JKLF statement said Police last night has arrested the son of JKLF activist Ghulam Hassan Hafiz of Nowhatta and beat him ruthlessly.
Police has arrested dozens of parents and blamed their sons for stone throwing. Police has also arrested many youth from Zainakot, HMT areas.
The arrested include Hafizullah Sofi, Ajaz Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Aashiq Wagay and Merajudin Ganai etc. Malik condemned all these oppressive acts of police and forces.
