ALLAHBAD: An FIR has been filed after a judge of a local court purportedly received a letter demanding dismissal of a case filed against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Police said judicial magistrate Gyanendra Tripathi has filed an FIR in this connection.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manjil Saini said here today that the judicial magistrate has alleged that he received the letter from Lashkar-e-Taiba threatening to kill him if he did not dismiss the case filed against CM Omar Abdullah.
The SSP said the local Intelligence Unit (LIU) was investigating the matter.
The letter was sent through speed post and all the information given in the column concerning details of the sender has turned out to be fake, she said.
A local advocate had filed a complaint against the J& K CM on his statement on Article 370 in May this year before Tripathis court with the request that the J& K CM be tried for sedition for his controversial statement on Article 370 which confers special status to Jammu and Kashmir in the Constitution.
