Srinagar: Srinagar police recovered two bodies including the body of a girl who had jumped in river Jehlum last week. The body of 22 years old Masarat Jan daughter of Ali Mohammad Bhat resident of Palpora Sonwar was fished out from river Jhelum near Noorbagh. She had jumped in the river from Sonawar Foot Bridge on 28-06-2014. The body of the deceased has been handed over to her relatives for last rites.
Meanwhile, an unidentified male body aged about 55 years was found lying at Samurbugh brick Kiln, Srinagar in the jurisdiction of police station Nowgam. The body of deceased has been kept in mortuary at Panthachowk Srinagar for identification. Srinagar police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of the death.
