Srinagar: The residents of various villages in south Kashmirs Pulwama district have complained that they are facing immense difficulties due to a technical snag in a power grid station from last five days.
They said over phone that Power Grid Station located at Hariparigam in Awantipora has been hit by a technical snag since last 05 days and due to which they are not only without electricity but they are also facing water shortage.
The PHE water plant functions on electricity and as there is no electricity, the water supply has been also hit, they said.
The villages which are reeling under darkness and are facing acute water shortage include Hariparigam, Buchoo, Badipora, Soimuh, Lariyar and Awantipora.
The residents demanded Power Development Department (PDD) officials to immediately restore the electricity.
