SRINAGAR: Chairman of JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has appealed people to severe social ties with former freedom activists who join pro-India parties for their “petty self interest”.
In his harsh reaction to former advisor to government Haseeb Drabu’s joining the opposition group Peoples Democratic Party, Yasin Malik said in a statement that Haseeb Drabu and Sidiq Wahi had joined JKLF in 1996 at the Hurriyat Conference’s Delhi Bureau office and both then did not own a car.
Malik, while remembering his friend and colleague in armed resistance Ishfaq Majeed Wani on his martyrdom anniversary, recalled that in 1996 he met an old man at airport who introduced his son Sidiq Wahid to him and said that he had dedicated his son for freedom movement. “After few days Sidiq Wahid who during those days was running a travel guide agency in Delhi came with another person Dr Haseeb Drabu. They came to Hurriyat’s Bureau Office in Delhi in an auto rickshaw to meet me. Dr Drabu talked to me for hours and during his conversation said that whenever he is in Bombay he visits the ancestral house of Quid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and bows his head in respect for his wisdom about Hindu mind set. Dr Drabu insisted that separation from this mentality and mindset and resistance against this was necessary. Drabu joined JKLF and both him and Sidiq worked with us for months.”
Yasin said, “After few years Sidiq Wahid “sold his conscience” for an armchair at Jammu University and won the vice chancellor-ship of Islamic University at Awantipur. Dr Drabu was awarded with the Chairmanship of JK Bank and hence both these renounced the resistance movement for their petty career goals.”
The statement quoted Malik as saying, The history of Jammu Kashmir right from 1947, bears a witness that many people (Conscience sellers) used resistance movement as a launching pad and after assuming importance landed in the lap of India for achieving petty self interests. Time has come when Kashmiri nation has to identity and negate those who by becoming political renegades (Kuka Parrays) are hell bent upon damaging the resistance movement of Kashmiris. Thus responded JKLF Chief Yasin Malik to former economic advisor to J&K government Haseeb Drabu’s decision to join Peoples Democratic Party.
While remembering Ishfaq Majeed Wani on his martyrdom anniersary, Yasin Malik said that Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Butt, Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, professor Abdul Ahad Wani, doctor Farooq Asahai, Pilot Nadeem Khateeb, doctor Turabi, Shamsul Haq and intellectuals like them sacrificed their lives for a just cause. “They could have led a wealthy luxurious lives but for the freedom of this nation they chose the path of thorns.
According to a party handout, Malik while reacting to Haseeb Drabu’s joining PDP said, “Drabu has chosen the path of betrayal and has joined the group of those conscience selling people who used resistance movement as a launching pad to satisfy and achieve their selfish goals.”
Malik said that the history of Jammu Kashmir right from 1947 bears a witness to this fact that many people (Conscience sellers) used resistance movement as a launching pad and after assuming importance landed in the lap of India for achieving their pity selfish interests. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Bakhshi Ghulam Mohammad, Ghulam Mohammad Sadiq, Mir Qasim, Mufti Mohammad Saeed, Farooq Abdullah, Gul shah and many more are a glaring example of this betrayal. In 1988 after the peoples revolution started, selfish people changed their colors and joined the rows of freedom movement but finally fall in the lap of India using the resistance movement as a launching pad.
Among these Abdul Majeed Mir ( ex MLA Shangus),Gani Naseem (ex MLA Khansahib), Ishtiyaaq Qadri, Junaid Matoo, Abdul Majeed Matoo (joined National Conference), Mohammad Yaqoob Wakil ( joined Congress), Altaf Ahmad Bukhari, Raof Bhat ( Hizb ul Mujahideen) ,Syed Mohammad Husain, Pir Mansoor, Advocate Abdul Haq, Nizamudin Bhat, Saifudin Shutroo, Muntazir Mohiuddin, Khurshid Aalam, Mohiudin Sofi, Yasir Reshi, Mushtaq Ahmad ( MLA Tral) (joined PDP ) and Imran Rahi and hundreds others whose names cannot be written in this small press release, are few who traveled through the lanes of resistance to reach their selfish goals in pro-Indian politics.
Malik said that in 1995 Indian state used counterinsurgent Kuka Parray and his “brigade of terrorists” to finish the resistance movement. They killed thousands but failed to achieve the goal .Now India is using these people to get the job done. To finish and weaken our sacred freedom struggle, these people are acting like refined Kuka Parrays (Political Renegades) added Yasin Malik. He said that the nation of Kashmir is slowly and steadily coming to know the originality of these chameleons and need of the hour is to boycott these people on the social front so that these people are remembered only as political renegades.
