SRINAGAR: In different militancy related incidents in June this year, 13 persons were killed in Kashmir Valley. The deceased included 7 militants, 5 civilians and one Army soldier.
So far in the first half of the current year, 89 persons have become the prey of bullets which included 45 militants, 20 civilians, 17 Army personnel and 7 personnel from Jammu and Kashmir Police. Besides these killings, 9 Indian Army soldiers lost their lives in two different fratricidal incidents. Over all in the first six months of year 2014, 33 Government Forces personnel have died out of which 26 are Army soldiers.
The highest number of casualties were reported in April this year which was 21 followed by 18 in February, 14 in May, 13 each in March and June and 8 in January. (Compiled by CNS)
