SRINAGAR: The wife of Syed Sallahudin, UJC Chief and supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen passed away after a long spell of illness on Saturday. She was 65.
She was admitted in Shere-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura for quite some time and was receiving chemotherapy.
She breathed her last Saturday morning. She was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard at Soibugh in Budgam. People from different walks of life participated in her last rites and attended her funeral prayers.
Syed Ali Geelani, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) has expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Sallahudins wife.
Geelani expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
Geelani also conveyed his condolences to the children of Sallahudin praying for their endurance to bear this irreparable loss.
Geelani expressed regrets on behalf of his amalgam for not being able to attend the last rites and funereal prayers of the deceased. We would have participated in her last rites and funereal prayers but we are under house arrest.(KNS)
