SRINAGAR: In a bid to foil the convention of All Parties Hurriyat Conference to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Awami Majlis Amal (50 Years of Resistance), Authorities have decided to impose restrictions in certain parts of old Srinagar city on Friday.
CNS quoted a district administration official as saying that the authorities would impose restrictions in old city on Saturday to prevent any law and order situation in view of the convention organized by Hurriyat Conference M Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at Municipal Park Srinagar.
Authorities are going to invoke Section 144 in some areas of the city to stop any untoward happening while there will be restrictions falling under five police stations in old city Srinagar namely Nowhatta Khanyar, , Gunj, Safa Kadal and Rainawari, the official was quoted as said adding that there will be heavy deployment of government forces in sensitive areas.
