Srinagar: The Crime branch of police Wednesday organized a seminar on the menace of drug abuse as a part of police raising day celebrations.
Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Shah, Principal SP College was the Guest of Honour.
Students from various educational institutions discussed various measures to coup the drug menace among the youth. Aftab Alam, SP Crime Branch Kashmir who hosted the functions also highlighted different areas of concern and other eminent speakers, who spoke on the occasion, included Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Medical Superintendent L.D Hospital, Srinagar.
Fifteen students of different schools spoke on the topic of drug abuse and put forward their opinion for countering this threat to our society. The students of Government Higher secondary Kothibagh, Presentation Convert Rajbagh and Government Boys higher secondary school Batamaloo were declared first, 2nd and third respectively.
The jury for the award distribution consisted of Ajaz Ahmad Bhat CPO SVC, Javid Iqbal CPO CBK and Nizar Ahmad Principal Government Higher Secondary School Batamaloo. The participants and the speakers appreciated the gesture of crime branch Kashmir in spreading awareness about crimes and solicited organizing such events.
