SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shalindra Kumar Monday convened a meeting of divisional level officers to take stock of preparedness and arrangements for the smooth conduct of two month long Amarnath Yatra-2014 commencing from June 28.
It was given out in the meeting that Control Rooms shall be set up at all the halting stations enroute to Holy Cave.
Arrangements with regard to adequate availability of essentials including Rice, Atta, Sugar, K-oil and LPG cylinders besides medicare facilities, power supply and drinking water facilities were also reviewed in the meeting.
Kumar exhorted upon the Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts to expedite the registration of Poniwallas and labourers, besides repair and clearance of roads. He also directed for ensuring availability of communication facilities and parking facilities at Pahalgam, Chandanwari and Baltal for the yatris.
To facilitate the yatris, Metrology Department officials were asked to provide weather forecast on daily basis, besides the Fire and Emergency department was enjoined to set up fire tenderers at all the halting stations enroute the Holy Cave.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Saugat Biswas, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Sarmad Hafeez, besides, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shrine Board attended the meeting.
