CM suspends police officer
Residents of Nawach Bagh Parrey Pora in the outskirts of Srinagar city Tuesday hailed the decision of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for suspending Sub-Inspector Muhammad Yasin (510/S) of police station Sadder Srinagar.
A delegation of locals told reporters here that the suspended police officer was unnecessarily harassing common people and was frequently seen abusing young and old on the road in broad day light.
Suspended Sub-Inspector recently thrashed women protestors mercilessly at Parrey Pora Baghat during their peaceful demos against water scarcity. At least 8 women at that time received injuries, they said adding that cops like him are a slur to the fair name of police department.
Pertinently, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday suspended two cops SI Muhammad Yasin (510/S) of PS Sadder Srinagar and ASI Mushtaq Ahmed(915/S) of PS Raj Bagh after observing their negative conduct while travelling from Gupkar to Srinagar Airport.
