Bandipora: Much to the relief of the inhabitants of the hilly areas, Army has dismantled the iron gatefrom Kudura area in North Kashmirs Bandipora district. The fortification had come up soon after the outbreak of militancy.
Army had erected an iron gate in the middle of the Kudura and Chuntimulla road and after five in the evening the army used to close the gate after which people were not allowed to move to and fro.
In case of emergency, we had to sought permission from the army and only after that we were allowed to pass through the gate. We are happy that Deputy Commissioner Bandipora intervened and persuaded Army to dismantle the gate, one of the residents of Chuntmulla.
A district administration official said that from onwards, there will no restriction on the movement of the people and the road will be open for them day in and day out.
