Anantnag: Authorities on Tuesday sealed a petrol pump for selling adulterated fuel in south Kashmirs Anantnag district.
Acting on public complaints, a joint team of police and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) department sealed Liddar Filing Station near Mattan in Anantnag after finding out that the petrol being supplied was adulterated.
The petrol had water added to it and accordingly the filling station was sealed under relevant sections of law, a police official said. He said that a car owner had complained that he faced proble in running his vehicle (JK01A-7478) shortly after filling petrol tank of his vehicle from the petrol pump.
A CA&PD official said that on spot investigation proved that petrol was adultered. He said they have sent the samples for analysis for further confirmation.
