SRINAGAR: A meeting of District Consultative Committee/District Level Review Committee (DLRC) was convened by the Lead District Manager Srinagar under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah here today to review the achievements made during the financial year 2013-14 under Annual Action Plan and other related matters.
The meeting was also attended by Zonal Head JK Bank Kashmir Central, A.R. Shagan.
During the course of the meeting, Lead District Manager Srinagar, Nisar Ahmad Ahangar informed the meeting that under all sectors especially Priority and Non-Priority Sectors out of the Plan outlay of Rs. 3285.36 crores for the year 2013-14, Rs. 1930.91 crores have been disbursed by financial institutions thus registering a growth of 59 percent at the end of the financial year.
The other participants in the meeting were by the representatives of RBI, NABARD, heads of line departments and District Co-ordinators of all Banks operating in the district Srinagar.
The District Development Commissioner while addressing the meeting expressed concern over the poor conditions of the people of slum areas in district Srinagar and urged Banks and line departments to identify the cases for sponsoring under Rajiv Rinn Yojana a modified scheme of ISHUP. He also impressed upon the banks to encourage small trade like Barbary, plumbary, electrician etc. which has a good scope and requirement. He asserted that small trade will boost the morale of people of the society and will be able to earn their livelihood. He said that people will no longer be dependent on the outsiders for such petty jobs.
He urged members of the forum to conduct awareness in rural areas particularly for agro based products.
He urged that with the emphasis on financial inclusion and extension of banking facilities in the hitherto uncovered areas, the reach of banking services has increased considerably and will increase further. He impressed upon the Banks to make strenuous efforts to achieve the target under the new District Credit Plan 2014-15 which shall be circulated soon. He expressed satisfaction over the implementation of EBT in district Srinagar and emphasis the concerned departments to expedite the inclusion of other beneficiary schemes also under the ambit of EBT.
He hailed the CD ration of 46 percent, however, he impressed upon the banks to increase their credit dispensation to increase the CD ration to a desired level.
The meeting was also informed that the land has been provided to RSETI Srinagar near Eidgah Srinagar for construction of permanent infrastructure.
As many as 5450 Kissan Credit Cards have been sanctioned in the district against which 1666 Kissan Credit Cards have been disbursed involving credit amounting to Rs. 9.33 crores. This includes 1666 Kissan Credit Cards sponsored by Agriculture department to various banks operating in the district and 2733 Kissan Credit Cards taken up by the Banks directly, the meeting was informed.
