JAMMU Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah this evening inaugurated Data Recovery Centre established by Power Development Department at Gladni here. This is the replica of the Data Centre inaugurated by the Chief Minister at Bemina the other day.
Constructed at a cost of about Rs. 5 crores the Data Recovery Centre is a state-of-art modern facility to smoothen the process of consumer care and provide online billing, payment, enquiry, connection, etc. facilities to the consumers.
Under Re-structured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (R-APDRP), the State Government has launched special programme of upgrading transmission and distribution of electricity in as many as 30 towns including Srinagar and Jammu cities. The establishment of Data Centre and Data Recovery Centre at Srinagar and Jammu is the part of this programme.
While receiving the PowerPoint presentation from Power Development Department on the occasion about the functioning of Data Recovery Centre, the Chief Minister underlined the need for strengthening the consumer care service and ensuring quick response to the public grievances regarding power cuts, transformer damages and repairs besides others relating to the individual consumer concern.
The Chief Minister inspected various units of the Data Recovery Centre and also interacted with the staff and the management of the Centre.
Minister for Housing and Horticulture, Raman Bhalla was also present on the occasion.
