Srinagar: Communist Party of India (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has welcomed the diplomatic gestures shown by the two neighboring countries India and Pakistan with regard to swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister designate Mr Narendra Modi.
In a statement issued today, Tarigami hoped that the invitation from Mr Modi to SAARC heads including Pakistan Prime Minister and the nod given by Mr Nawaz Sharif proves to be an opening to address certain substantive issues between the two countries.
He however, expressed caution that only future will tell how these gestures prove helpful to break the barriers of hostilities between the two countries. Hope these signals emanating from the two countries right now prove helpful in bridging the gap of uneasy relations in future, the CPI (M) leader observed.
