JAMMU: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla inaugurated State Bank of India (SBI) branch at Old Satwari here Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla congratulated people of Satwari, Chatta, Old Satwari, Bhour Camp and its adjoining areas for getting a rural branch of national bank which will facilitate them with facilities like GGC, GRC, INB, loan and other online services.
He said that this modernized branch would help to reduce rush of costumers in other branches adding that the SBI is providing loan and limits on very nominal rate of interest and it would help people of the area to establish their own ventures to stabilize their economic status.
The Minister asked the bank authorities to extend banking and financial services to people of far off areas too, thereby helping in the overall development of socio-economic condition of the state.
He appealed the people to cooperate with the bank for their own betterment by availing various services and repay their loans in time. He informed that the SBI has introduced various new insurance policies with minimum installment of premium. He said that with the opening of this branch handicapped, senior citizens and other beneficiaries would be directly benefitted at their doorsteps.
Senior bank authorities, prominent citizens in large numbers were present on the occasion.
