Srinagar: The Prime Minister designate Narendera Modi has sent invitations to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Governor N N Vohra, Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saifuddin Soz, and 10 MPs from the state to attend his swearing-in ceremony to be held on May 26 in New Delhi.
Sources in chief ministers office have confirmed, that Omar has been invited to attend the ceremony. Similarly, the Governor N.N Vohra has also received the invitation, sources revealed to KNS.
Soz who is presently in Srinagar, said: I am in Srinagar and presently busy with some party work. Yes, I have received the invitation, and I will try my best to attend ceremony on May 26. Among the 3000 invitees, chief ministers of all the states and union territories besides Members of Parliament are likely on the list. National Conference leader and Member Rajeya Sabha, G.N Ratanpuri has also confirmed tha he has received the invitation from Modi. The other nine MPs including PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, Tariq Hamid Karra, Dr Jatinder Singh have also received the invitations, sources added.
