Srinagar, May 21 : District Congress Committee Kishtwar in a meeting pays rich tributes to former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary today. According to a statement , Pardeep Singh Parihar-President DCC Preside over the meeting which was attended by Haji Ghulam Hassan Mir-President BCC Kishtwar, Nek Ram Manhas-President BCC Paddar, Mohammad Aslam Malik (Member PCC), Hans Raj Bhagat, Nasir Hussian-Advocate, Parkash Singh-District President NSUI, Manzoor Shah, Abdul Latif, Soba Ram Sharma, Parkash Ram, Isher Chand, Capt. Karam Chand and other prominent citizens.
Paying rich tributes to late Rajiv Gandhi, the speakers one after the other described Rajiv Gandhi as a great visionary leader who lead the country towards the challenges of 21st century. They said it was the vision of Rajiv Gandhi that India has emerged as the leader of the World in information technology. They said, when Rajiv Ji talked about information and communication technology, the leaders of the main opposition party criticized him in side and out side the parliament because they could not understand the challenges of 21st century. It was because of his vision that whole World is looking towards India for addressing their problem of unemployment. They said it is Congress party whose history is full of sacrifices, which has the vision and talent of leadership to lead the country towards overall progress and prosperity.
