Qazigund: Two Gujrat tourists were killed while two others were injured in a road accident near Qazigund on Friday.
Four members of a Gujrati family were on way to Srinagar in a Tata Indica vehicle (JK02AU-2707) when a speedy truck (JK02S-1859) coming from the opposition direction hit it near Levidora Qazigund.
All the four family members and the driver were critically injured and were rushed to Emergency hospital Qazigund where doctors declared father and his daughter brought dead. The deceased have been identified as Jai Raj Bhai son of Harsu Bhai resident of Bhavnagar Gujrat and his five year old daughter Chavdara. The wife of deceased Jai Raj, Geeta Anjali and another daughter Ketan Anjali are battling for life at SKIMS Srinagar.
Police said that the driver Sanjay Kumar son of Gyan Chand resident of Chenani Udhampore was also critically wounded and has been admitted in SKIMS Srinagar.
Police said that soon after hitting the Indica vehicle, the truck driver left the truck there and fled from the spot. We have seized the truck and hunt has been launched to nab the truck driver, a police official said adding that they have informed their relatives in Gujrat and arrangements are being made to shift the bodies to Bhavnagar.
