SRINAGAR: The 16th Lok Sabha elections would be held in the six parliamentary constituencies of Jammu & Kashmir on 5 poll days, April 10, 17, 24, 30 and May 17, 2014.
Polling will be held at 9,633 polling stations spread across 7,346 polling station locations. Out of the states total of 69,33,118 electors as on 17th February 2014, 30.74% are in the age group 1829 while women constitute 47.24%. The poll expenditure limit per candidate for all constituencies in the state is Rs.70 lakhs.
Baramulla to go to polls on May 07
The notification for elections to Baramulla-Kupwara parliamentary constituency would be issued on April 12, 2014 and nomination papers would be filed upto April 19. Scrutiny of papers would take place on April 21 and last date of withdrawal of nomination papers would be April 23. Elections would be held on May 07, 2014.
This was disclosed here today in a review meeting of Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police, falling under the constituency, held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, who is also the Returning officer for the Baramulla-Kupwara parliamentary constituency.
