SRINAGAR: A leading civil society group here has condemned, what it termed as yet another cold blooded murder of an innocent youth by the armed forces in north Kashmir district of Bandipore.
Expressing deep regret and anguish over the gruesome incident that also left several peaceful protestors seriously injured, Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) issued a statement saying the group views it as part of repressive and barbaric policies of Government of India to silence the voices of descent in the state.
KCSDS lambasted the state government for acting as collaborator to these repressive policies.
By imposing uncalled for curfew and restrictions, the state government, in its worst cruelty, has not allowed the people including relatives of the murdered youth to mourn and protest on his death, the statement read.
KCSDS also rejected the probe ordered by the state government in the matter as according to it, such probes have yielded no results in the past.
The result of Pathribal probe is very fresh in the minds of people where despite CBI indicting, Army dropped all charges of the involved personal. The state government has neither any capacity nor any authority to touch, not to talk of harming rogue personal of Armed forces, it said.
The Bandipore incident, according to KCSDS, was yet another shame and slap on the faces of so- called human rights activists of India who have maintained criminal silence over the gruesome murder in the interest of national security and nationalism, KCSDS statement added.
