Srinagar: Coming down heavily on the state authorities over ‘collapsing’ due to recent snowfall in valley, Chairman Huriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday stated that the snowfall has punctured all the tall claims of government and has unmasked its functioning on all fronts.
While talking to KNS, Mirwaiz stated that the reports of electricity collapse and water supply shortage are coming from every corner of valley and that the state administration is virtually in the ‘sleeping mode’. “What their claims in the past used to be about the development of the state have all turned out to be farce and absurd. The reality is that the government has been unmasked by this moderate snowfall.”
Huriyat (M) Chairman added further that the shortage of electricity and water supply has affected the life of people at large in valley and that people are aghast over situation when the government machinery is enjoying luxurious living in Jammu and has left the valleyites in the midst of the worst crises.
Mirwaiz accused that the irony is that the metrological department had intimated the state administration about the possibility of snowfall but it seems that the state government is hell-bent upon inflicting torture to the people by creating electricity and water supply dearth. The 2 and a half inch snowfall has punctured the government claims about development. See the condition of roads that virtually have turned into cesspools- what has changed here is Kashmir is only bad from the worst.
