SRINAGAR: Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution of Iran, a seminar was organized in Srinagar where speakers hailed the successful model of Islamic democracy in Iran.
The seminar titled “Islamic Revolution in Iran a successful model of harmony between Islam and Democracy” was attended by a galaxy of political and religious leaders including Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Prof Abdul Ghani besides Agha Syed Hassan whose Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiayan hosted the event.
Iran’s Cultural Councillor in New Delhi, Dr Alami was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speakers praised the resilience of Iranian nation for preserving the Islamic system of governance they had established after enormous sacrifices.
Dr Alami in his address detailed the achievements of Islamic Republic in the face of heavy odds and Western machinations.
The founder of Islamic revolution Imam Ayatollah Khomeini presented the model in face of established systems of socialism and capitalism and this has now turned out to be a viable alternative presently available to the world, speakers noted.
Meanwhile Hurriyat Conference faction led by Shabbir Shah has congratulated Islamic Republic of Iran on its 35th anniversary of the great 1979 Iranian Revolution.
Greeting Iranian nation and its leadership on revolution anniversary, the Hurriyat spokesperson said the Iranian Revolution by becoming the beacon light for the Islamic world is touching heights of success at every level, a statement issued here said.
Applauding the courage of Iranian people, the spokesperson said the courage and valor of leaders can bear fruit when the people also show perseverance. Until or unless we (Kashmiris) too will muster courage against the tyrant Indian forces as Iranians, we will not achieve our goal of freedom, he said.
Commenting on the great vision and simplicity of Iranian supreme leader Ayatullah Ali Khamemei, the Hurriyat spokesperson said: The great vision and simplicity have to go hand in hand otherwise the great tasks like achieving freedom is extremely hard.
