Says will lead Lal Chowk March on Feb 9 despite restrictions
SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front said Friday that its chairman Yasin Malik has gone underground to avoid his arrest by police in the wake of its Lal Chowk chalo call for Feb 9.
A JKLF spokesman said that police has been raiding the home of its leaders and activists to foil its Lal Chowk Chalo program.
Police arrested JKLF leader Bashir Ahmad Bhat Friday morning while Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Sheikh Khalid, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Abdul Sattar had already been arrested.
Police also raided the houses of Yasin Malik and other activists while many have been called to police stations, the spokesman said.
Condemning the police crackdown Malik termed it as a frustration and act of sate terrorism.
He said that despite all the restrictions and crackdown JKLF will pursue its Lal Chowk Chalo program.
By perusing this policy of terrorizing the peaceful activists and leaders and stopping us from attending condolence meetings regarding our beloved martyrs Shaheed Baba I Qoum Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Farzan I Qoum Mohammad Afzal Guru the state is pushing us to the wall, Malik said. .
Meanwhile JKL held commemorative programs to mark the anniversaries of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru.
