Srinagar: Police recovered the body of a head constable, missing since last week while on duty, from an open field in Baramulla.
A police statement said that Head Constable Abdul Rashid Hakeem son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Malpora Sheeri was posted as Guard Commander at a minority Picket at Veervan Pundit Colony Baramulla was reported to be missing on Jan 20 from the guard room.
His body was found from an open field at Khadiniyar, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Baramulla. Police has taken the body under custody and proceedings under section 174 CrPC were initiated to ascertain the cause of the death. The dead body was later handed over to his next of kins for last rites after completion of all legal formalities.
