SRINAGAR: Protests erupted in North Kashmirs Uri town on Wednesday after the death of a four year old boy who was mauled by stray dogs on Tuesday evening.
Reports said that Sahil Afghan was brutally attacked by a pack of canines on Tuesday evening when he was playing in his courtyard at Uranbua hamlet. The boy succumbed to his injuries Wednesday afternoon.
As the word about his death spread in the town, scores of agitated protestors blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road and raised slogans against the government.
A police official told CNS that some stray dogs had attacked the boy who as a result died in the hospital.
