Have lost an affectionate well wisher: Malik
Srinagar: The father of slain cardiologist and JKLF leader Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, Haji Abdul Sattar Guru passed away today.
JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik after receiving the news rushed towards Doabgah Sopore along with other JKLF leaders and attended his funeral prayers. Thousands of people attended also joined the funeral prayers.
On the occasion Yasin Malik while paying rich tributes to the departed soul said that he was an asset of this nation who was always keen to help the needy and perform his social duties. It was his inspiration that motivated his son Shaheed Dr Abdul Ahad Guru to work for poor, needy and downtrodden of the society.
Yasin Malik said that the loss of this great fatherly person was not only a grief and loss for his family but a national loss. We have lost an affectionate well wisher, a lovely personality and fatherly figure today, said Yasin Malik. He said that the departed soul had a great love for freedom movement and he was always seen praying for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir.
Those accompanying Malik included Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, Mir Mohammad Zaman, Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Mohammad Sideeq Shah.
